Eleven people in Croatia who became sick in the second half of August are suspected of being infected with the West Nile virus, the Croatian National Institute of Public Health said on Wednesday.
Some of them have been hospitalised. All patients are from the City of Zagreb and Zagreb County, except one from Medjimurje County.
Given that the virus is transmitted by mosquitoes, the Institute highlighted the importance of personal protection and said that the necessary measures were being taken.
