18 candidates run for position of HRT director general

A total of 20 candidates submitted their applications for the position of the Croatian Radio Television (HRT) director general, but only 18 candidates submitted applications which comply with requirements, the HRT Programmes Council said on Thursday, adding that the candidates would be interviewed next week.

Two thirds of the candidates come from HRT - acting director general Josip Popovac, assistant director general Damir Simonovic, Croatian Radio (HR) director Dusko Radic, information programme editor Nikola Kristic, Croatian Television satellite programme editor Karolina Vidovic Kristo, journalists Goran Rotim, Branimir Farkas and Nada Prkacin, religious programme editor Mario Raguz, film director Branko Debeljak, head of the Croatian Radio IT department Marko Malnar and former coordnator in the show "Hrvatska uzivo" Veljko Jancic.

Applications were also submitted by Jozo Rajkovaca, Boris Gregoric, Zoran Kalinic, Mate Pavkovic, Branimir Jezic and Marko Ugarkovic.

The applications submitted by Marijan Hodak and Emir Cic did not meet the requirements.
