All Croatian airports, except for the airport in Osijek, that were closed due to air traffic problems caused by spread of the cloud of volcanic ash from Iceland, were re-opened by 1500 hrs Sunday.

The Croatian national aviation authority said in a statement that following the latest weather reports it decided to re-open Croatia's airspace except its northern and eastern parts.

Thus, the authority greenlighted the opening of airports in Zagreb, Pula, Rijeka, Losinj, Zadar, Split, Brac and Dubrovnik.

Only the airport in the eastern city of Osijek remained closed.

Croatian national aviation authority will continue following weather reports and developments in European airspace before making any new decisions.
