The regional HDSSB political party to a news conference in the eastern Croatian city of Osijek on Saturday that yesterday's biggest Croatian holiday was misused, namely it was put in the function of the coming elections.
HDSSB president Vladimir Sisljagic said "it was sad to watch the enthusiasm of Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor who does not understand that people did not applaud her, but they applauded the mention of the names of our incarcerated generals - the applauding was for Gotovina, Markac and veterans and not for her".
Sisljagic said that it was even more sad to watch President Ivo Josipovic whose "palms were in pain" when people applauded the mention of the names of the Croatian generals.
