A former Sisak-Moslavina County police chief, Djuro Brodarac, his deputy Vlado Milankovic and Interior Ministry reservist Drago Bosnjak were arrested on Monday on suspicion of war crimes against civilians committed in 1991 and 1992, the ministry said.
Brodarac was also an MP and a chief of police in Sisak. He was arrested near Zadar, while the other two were arrested in Sisak.
They will be brought to the Osijek County Court, which has jurisdiction in the case.
Police would not reveal further details of the case, while the media have been reporting for years about crimes against Serb civilians committed in the Sisak area in 1991 and 1992.
