Croatia won a bronze medal at the European Men's Handball Championship in Belgrade on Sunday, beating Spain 31:27.

The was Croatia's tenth medal won at major handball competitions. It won its first medal as an independent nation at the European Handball Championship in Portugal in 1994, capturing a bronze. At the next two European championships it finished second.
The Croatian national handball team won two golds at the Olympic Games, a gold and three silvers at world championships, and two silvers and two bronzes at European competitions.
