Six Credo bank executives arrested on Friday on suspicion of financial wrongdoing were released from custody late on Monday night, the State Prosecutor's Office has said.

Investigating Judge Ljiljana Stipisic has rejected the motion by the State Prosecutor's Office that the suspects be placed in investigative custody to prevent them from tampering with witnesses.

The suspects are the bank's management board chairman, Sime Luketin, management board members Marko Vukovic and Mate Misic, and the bank's owners, Boris Barac, Mirko Vukovic and Vibor Barac.

They are suspected of abuse of office and embezzlement, whereby the bank was defrauded of HRK 250 million.

The six men were interrogated over the weekend and, according to their attorneys, they all rejected the charges.
