The Croatian and Polish gas transport system operators - Plinacro and Gaz System - on Thursday signed a declaration by which the two companies expressed intent to cooperate in setting up a gas and transport corridor between the Baltics and the Adriatic by connecting the Polish LNG terminal, the construction of which has just finished, and the future LNG terminal on the northern Adriatic island of Krk.

At the signing ceremony, Croatian First Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Radimir Cacic stressed this was a valuable project recognised by the European Union.

Poland's experience in building LNG terminals is very important for Croatia, Cacic said adding Croatia also expected Poland to support Croatia communication with the EU aimed at receiving money for EU funds allocated for the construction of the LNG terminal on Krk.
