Croatia's presidential election was the front page story of all dailies in Bosnia-Herzegovina on Monday.
Bosnian dailies stressed that the turnout of Croatian citizens living inBosnia was surprisingly low.
Dnevni Avaz daily said Social Democrat Ivo Josipovic and independentcandidate Milan Bandic deserved to be in a runoff. The daily also citedfundamental messages the two candidates sent to voters calling on them to go tothe polls in the 10 January runoff. The daily also cited conservative CroatianDemocratic Union (HDZ) candidate Andrija Hebrang as saying that disagreementsamong right-wing parties was the reason why their candidates lost.
Oslobodjenje daily said that the "election show" will continue inthe runoff between Josipovic and Bandic. The daily also cited some voters fromBosnia as saying that they expected a new Croatian president to provide forCroats in Bosnia.
Banja Luka-based Nezavisne Novine daily reported on a low turnout.
Mostar-based Dnevni List daily said the results in the first round ofCroatia's presidential elections were in accordance with pre-election surveysand expectations, including the prediction that Hebrang would not enter therunoff.
The daily said this was good foundation for HDZ president Jadranka Kosor tostart "cleaning" the party.
