Croatia's per-capita Gross Domestic Product (GDP), measured according to purchasing power parity, was 61% of the European Union average in 2011, the same as in 2010, while Actual Individual Consumption (AIC) per capita was 56% of the EU average, also the same as in 2010, according to figures released by the EU statistical office Eurostat on Wednesday.
Croatian GDP per capita declined from 64% in 2009 to 61% in 2010, and in 2011 it remained at 61%. AIC per capita dropped from 58% in 2009 to 56% in 2010 and 2011.
The richest country was Luxembourg, with GDP per capita 274% of the EU average, followed by the Netherlands (131%), Austria (129%), Ireland (127%), Sweden (126%), Denmark (12%) and Germany (120%).
At the bottom of the rankings of the EU member states were Bulgaria (45%), Romania (49%), Latvia (58%), Lithuania (62%) and Poland (65%).
Among Croatia's neighbours at the bottom of the rankings were Bosnia and Herzegovina whose GDP was 29% of the EU average, followed by Albania (31%), Serbia (35%), Macedonia (36%), and Montenegro (43%).
