Croatia's inflation rate accelerates to 3.9%

Croat's consumer prices went up to 3.9% in May, in comparison to May 2011, which is a three-year high, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported on Thursday.

The prices measures by the Consumer Price Index increased 1.7% on the month and 3.9 % on the year.

Thus, the country's inflation rate increased from the annual 2.6% rate in April y to 3.9% in May.

This has been the highest inflation rate since April 2009, when it was also 3.9%.

Also, the statistical data revealed a higher rise in inflation than expected by five macroeconomic experts, polled by Hina, who projected the average rise of three percent year on year.
