Croatia is deeply concerned about the situation in Libya which, resulting in more and more civilian victims, represents a threat to international peace and security, and supports the adoption of the UN Security Council resolution which envisages a no-fly zone over Libya, the Croatian Foreign Ministry said on Friday.

Croatia calls for respecting international humanitarian law and demands a cease-fire and that all forms of violence, notably attacks on civilians, should end, the ministry said.

As a state actively involved in international efforts to prevent the further suffering of civilians in Libya, Croatia welcomes UN Security Council Resolution 1973 adopted on Thursday, the ministry said.
