Culture Minister Andrea Zlatar Violic on Wednesday announced the establishment of an underwater archaeology museum in Zadar where there is already International Centre for Underwater Archaeology (ICUA).

Minister Zlatar Violic, who held a news conference in Gruz Port in Dubrovnik while she was visiting the American research vessel Hercules, recalled that the ICUA, founded in 2007, had been conducting research along the Adriatic coast in cooperation with the U.S research vessel since 2009.

The research is being financed by RPM Nautical Foundation, a U.S a nonprofit archaeological research organization dedicated to the advancement of maritime archaeology that includes littoral surveys and excavation of individual shipwreck and harbor site, and by the Croatian culture ministry.
