A Croatian bus driver who was driving teenagers from Croatia has been arrested in Great Britain for causing a traffic accident in Berkshire and the teenagers, after receiving medial care, continued towards Oxford in another bus, the Croatian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.
British police confirmed the teenagers received medical assistance on the spot and that no one was hospitalised.
The 43-year-old driver, who was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, has not contacted the Croatian Embassy in London or requested consular assistance, the ministry said.
According to the BBC, the driver was arrested after hitting a truck between Blewbury and Streatley.
According to the police, there were 41 passengers, including 36 teenagers, 20 of whom sustained light injuries. The injured teenagers, aged 14-16, were transferred to an elementary school in Streatley, where they received medical assistance. Some have cuts on their faces, said the BBC.
The bus driver himself called an ambulance to the site of the accident. He was not hurt, said the BBC.
