Croatian companies generated a gross profit of HRK 25.4 billion in the first nine months of the year, an increase of 39.4 per cent in relation to the corresponding period of 2010, the Financial Agency (Fina) said on Monday.
Their total revenues increased by 7.1 per cent to HRK 466.6 billion and expenditures by 5.6 per cent to HRK 441.1 billion. Domestic revenues reached HRK 344 billion, up 4.4 per cent, while foreign sales revenues went up by 13.4 per cent to HRK 75.3 billion.
Companies had 853,424 workers, or 0.8 per cent more than in the same period last year. Their average monthly net salary was HRK 4,673, an increase of 1.5 per cent in nominal terms, but a decline of 0.7 per cent in real terms owing to a rise in consumer prices.
Of the 91,607 companies, 50,413 or 55 per cent operated at a gross profit, while 41,194 or 45 per cent operated at a gross loss. Companies invested HRK 27.3 billion in capital assets, or 9.3 per cent less than in the first nine months of 2010.
