Croatians Sime Fantela and Igor Marenic on Sunday won the bronze medal in the men’s 470 event at the Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships.
Australians Mathew Belcher and Malcolm Page retained their 470 class world title, while Luke Patience and Stuart Bithell of Great Britain were silver medalists.
It was the fifth time for the Croatian duo to take the podium at medal-awarding ceremonies at European and world championships in three years. In 2009, Fantela and Marenic were the world and European champions. In 2010, they were bronze medalists at the world championships, and in July this year they again took the European title.
