A group of hooligans burnt a Croatian flag in central Banja Luka on Friday evening during a Croatia-Serbia World Cup qualifying match played in Zagreb, Bosnian media reported on Saturday.

The flag was burnt in a square where football fans could watch the match on a big screen, and a fight broke out among supporters of the Serbian team shortly after Mario Mandzukic scored the first goal for Croatia in 23rd minute. Most of the fans dispersed after Ivica Olic scored the second goal for Croatia in 37th minute, according to the Bosnian largest web portal klix.ba.

Two football wins were celebrated throughout the country on Friday as Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated Greece 3:1, while Croatia's 2:0 victory over Serbia was celebrated mostly in predominantly Croat areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina. No interethnic incidents were reported, as had been the case in previous years.

Meanwhile in Linz, Austria, a massive brawl involving about 50 persons broke out in a Serbian club after the Croatia-Serbia match and the police had to send nine patrols to calm them down, APA news agency reported. Two violent fans were detained, and several participants were slightly injured in the fight.
