Croatian Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Gordan Jandrokovic and chargé d'affaires in the Croatian Embassy in Egypt Zeljka Buric have decided to fly out a part of the embassy staff and members of their families, including children, foreign ministry official Vinko Ljubicic said on Sunday.

A minimum number of Croats will stay in Egypt to keep the embassy running. The embassy is also making a list of Croat citizens who wish to leave Egypt, where violent protests against the rule of President Hosni Mubarak have given way in some parts of Cairo to looting.

"Some 20 people said they wanted to leave. The majority is staying and not panicking, Ljubicic said.

Protesters in Egypt demand an end to President Hosni Mubarak's 30-year rule.
