The Croatian Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Gordan Jandrokovic, met with British Foreign Secretary William Hague in London on Tuesday for talks on bilateral relations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said in a statement.
Jandrokovic and Hague described the bilateral relations as excellent, adding that they could be further improved through cooperation at all levels, citing the two countries' membership of NATO and Croatia's forthcoming accession to the European Union.
Jandrokovic informed his host about the current state of affairs in Croatia's EU accession process, saying that Zagreb was making additional efforts to bring the entire process to completion in the first half of 2011, during Hungary's EU presidency. He stressed the importance the Croatian government attached to reforming the judiciary and state administration.
Hague said he appreciated the efforts made by the Croatian government in combating corruption and the results it had achieved.
Hague expressed strong support for Croatia's efforts to join the EU, stressing that it set a positive example to other countries in the region on their path to EU integration. He also positively assessed Croatia's active role in international activities, the statement said.
