Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor has extended her and her cabinet's condolences to Japanese PM Naoto Kan and the Japanese people on the disastrous earthquake and ensuing tsunami which have hit their country, the Croatian government said in a press release on Saturday.
"Our thoughts are with the families of the victims and the missing as well as with the rescuers and all those helping in the rescue operations," Kosor said in her telegram.
The 8.9 quake which struck northeastern Japan on Friday has left at least 1,400 people dead or missing. This was the strongest earthquake in Japan in the last 140 years.
