Quality must become Croatia's strategic orientation in all segments and increasing quality in doing business is one of the necessary tools for increasing the competitiveness of Croatia's economy, it was said at the conference "Quality for Better Efficiency", organised by the Croatian Quality Association (HDK) in Zagreb on Tuesday.
The conference was organised to mark Croatian Quality Day (Nov 8), the 17th European Quality Week (Nov 7-13) and the 22nd World Quality Day (Nov 10).
HDK charters were presented at the conference.
The winners of the Charter for Encouraging and Implementing Quality in Croatia's Economy are Omni Aspect from Kutina, Gradnja from Osijek, Kamgrad from Zagreb and the HT telecommunications company.
The winners of the Charter for Special Contribution to Education and Promotion of Quality are the Croatian Association of Quality Managers and the Material Institute of Zagreb's Civil Engineering Faculty.
The Life Achievement Charter was awarded to Jerko Sladoljev from Porec.
It was announced that the 12th Croatian quality conference would be held on the northern Adriatic archipelago of Brijuni on May 10-12, 2012.
