The Cypriot parliament unanimously ratified Croatia's Treaty of Accession to the European Union on Thursday, the Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Ministry said.

Cyprus has thus become the eighth EU member-country to complete the process of ratification of Croatia's Accession Treaty. In the three months since Croatia's EU entry vote, the process of ratification of its Accession Treaty has been completed by all three EU member-countries covered by the Croatian Embassy in Rome - Italy, Malta and Cyprus, the ministry said.

The Croatian government expects 13 countries to ratify the Accession Treaty by July this year. The document is to be ratified by the parliaments of all 27 EU member-countries before Croatia's accession on 1 July 2013.
