This year's Czech Film Week will take place in Zagreb's Europa Cinema on October 4-8 and will bring the six most interesting Czech productions made last year, the cinema announced earlier this week.
The event will open with Jiri Vejdelek's comedy "Men in Hope", a story about a 60-year-old bon vivant who believes that infidelity is the foundation of a happy marriage.
Another comedy, Perfect Days, by Alice Nellis, is a story about a woman in her forties who, after making a successful career, is trying to achieve another goal in her life - have a baby.
The family social drama "Flower Buds" by Zdenek Jirasky portrays a Czech working class family in a small town and its gradual disintegration, while "Innocence" by Jan Hebrejk follows the downward life path of an acknowledged doctor, loving father and husband accused of a serious crime.
Tomas Lunak's "Alois Nebel" is an animated drama about a train dispatcher haunted by hallucinations and dark shadows of the past, while the historical war drama "Habermann's Mill" by Juraj Herz opens one of the most controversial chapters in Czech history, the post-WWII expulsion of Germans from the Sudetenland.
