Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic said on Thursday Serbia's negotiating position was getting weaker with every new round of negotiations on Kosovo, and the Office of Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic confirmed that the US and the EU administration expect Vucic to attend the next negotiations round in Brussels.
According to the media in Belgrade, Dacic said in parliament on Thursday that at the moment Kosovo was not even implementing the Marti Ahtisaari's plan for the protection of rights of Kosovo Serbs, adding that Serbia should fight for this plan.
"Serbia is prepared for an agreement, this is not disputable, but Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija need to have their community (of municipalities) with executive powers," Dacic said in parliament answering questions about the course of the negotiations in Brussels.
Dacic stressed Pristina "does not have the control over northern Kosovo" and that "Serbia does not want this issue to be resolved according to Kosovo law" and that it believes that a special agreement was necessary.
In the meantime Radio Television Serbia received direct confirmation from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister that Vucic was invited by both Washington and Brussels to attend the next round of negotiations, scheduled for 2 April.
The US Embassy in Belgrade said in a statement on Thursday that Washington was not officially participating in the organisation of the negotiations in Brussels nor it was directly sending invitations to the participants in the negotiations.
The decision whether or not Vucic will travel to Brussels will be made after consultations with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and prime Minister Ivca Dacic.
The second round of negotiations between Pristina and Belgrade is scheduled to be held in Brussels on April 2. after "progress has been made" at the last negotiations round, as underlined by both negotiators - Dacic and Kosovo PM Hashim Thaci.
