The Tibetan religious leader, the 14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso, on Monday arrived in Maribor, Slovenia, where he will stay until Wednesday to hold several lectures on spiritual topics.
The Dalai Lama was welcomed by Maribor Mayor Franc Kangler, a Slovenian member of the European Parliament, Ivo Vajgl, and a crowd of some 100 people.
Slovenian state officials will not meet with the Dalai Lama due to reservations regarding possible reactions from China, but some opposition leaders will visit Maribor to meet with him.
