In the final game of T-Com 1. HNL matchday 18, NK Varazdin took home a point from the always tough away game at Dinamo Zagreb, but went home furious with referee Drazenko Kovacic.
On 55 minutes, Dinamo midfielder Milan Badelj went down in Varazdin's penalty area and Drazenko Kovacic from Krizevci pointed to the spot. Protests from the Varazdin player did nothing to change his mind and Chilean attacker Pedro Morales put the 'Modri' ahead from the spot.
"I've never seen a penalty like that before. The ref gifted them the penalty", Varazdin players said after the game.
Varazdin equalized with a late goal from Skvorc to take home the always valuable Maksimir point.
Dinamo meanwhile are not commenting the ref's decision to award them the spotkick for Badelj's fall in the area, saying only that it was the official's call.
