The British low-tariff airline easyJet on Friday introduced Zagreb-London flights connecting Zagreb Airport and London's Gatwick, to operate five days a week, reporters were told at a news conference at Zagreb Airport after the first easyJet flight from London landed in Zagreb.

Aboard the plane were some 100 passengers, including traditional Scottish musicians who were to take part in the closing event of British Days in Zagreb, which started on February 1 and ends on Saturday, February 12.

EasyJet official Peter Voets said this was the company's second line from Zagreb to a European destination, recalling that on November 1 the airline introduced Zagreb-Paris flights.

He said easyJet would introduce flights from Zagreb to Dortmund on February 17, and was hopeful all flight services would operate successfully as their turnover on the Croatian market was constantly increasing.

EasyJet has been present in Croatia since 2006, the company is satisfied with its results, and this year alone it has sold 25,000 tickets for flights to and from Croatia.

Aside from Zagreb, easyJet operates ten flights to European destinations from Split and seven from Dubrovnik.
