Former Croatian prime ministers, who met with the incumbent PM Zoran Milanovic in Zagreb on Thursday, said they did not give advice to Milanovic but informed him of their opinions about how to overcome the economic crisis, saying that Milanovic was prepared to take their opinions under advisement.

"We talked about economic topics even some decisions the government made today. I cannot discuss details ...I can only say that we stated our opinions and shared our experiences," former prime minister Jadranka Kosor told the press after their meeting and lunch. She said Milanovic was prepared to listen to the opinions of the people who were at the helm of the government in difficult war and post-war times.

Former prime minister Zlatko Matesa said Milanovic was open to their opinions. He added that the former prime ministers tried to give their contribution to issues concerning the tax system, motorways, the INA oil company and other topics which are in the interest of Croatia's economic development.

Each of us has an obligation to help Croatia do better, Matesa said, adding that the former PMs did not give advice to Milanovic on how to overcome the crisis. He said similar meetings would be held in the future as well.

Former prime minister and former president Stjepan Mesic said Milanovic spoke about the current problems, what the government was doing and what it was planning to do.
