The Croatian Football Association (HNS) has said that statements made by Dinamo Soccer club's executive director Zdravko Mamic about Croatia's education and sports minister Zeljko Jovanovic hating all things Croatian because he is a Serb, were unacceptable and that the association would initiate disciplinary procedures against Dinamo's executive who is also a member of the HNS's executive committee.

"The Croatian Football Association considers that every sports official is responsible as an individual for their words and actions and as such we condemn the latest outburst by Mr. Mamic. The association considers Mr. Mamic's statements as unacceptable and communication of this kind is inappropriate. As a member of the association's executive committee, Mr. Mamic and all football officials are obliged to respect the Behaviour Code and as such disciplinary procedures will be initiated against him", a press release from the HNS says.

In a radio interview earlier in the day Mamic amongst else said that Minister Jovanovic hated anything to do with Croatia because his blood count was such and that he was an insult to the Croatian mind and Croatian man.
