French Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and Croatian Defence Minister Ante Kotromanovic, who on Sunday attended the Bastille Day Military Parade in Paris, signed an agreement on bilateral cooperation in the defence sector, the Croatian defence ministry said in a press release on its web site.
Croatia strongly supports European Union member states' orientation towards the build-up of military capabilities through pooling and sharing and towards the establishment of systematic and long-standing European military cooperation, the ministry said.
Minister Kotromanovic was quoted as saying that Croatia appreciates France's contribution to the common security and defence policy (CSDP). The officials agreed that with the recent admission of Croatia to the EU, France and Croatia became partners within the CSDP.
Kotromanovic thanked France for having invited 75 Croatian troops to participate in the Bastille Day Military Parade in Paris.
