Ejup Ganic, a former senior Bosniak official arrested during a visit to Great Britain on suspicion of war crimes, on Friday lodged an appeal at the High Court in London in order to be released on bail, the German news agency dpa said.
Ganic was arrested in London on Monday on an international warrant issued by Serbia for 19 persons from Bosnia-Herzegovina. Ganic and Stjepan Kljujic, wartime members of the Bosnian presidency, are among them. They are all charged with killings in an attack on a Yugoslav army column in Sarajevo in May 1992.
On Wednesday, a London judge remanded Ganic in custody until a March 29 hearing, despite a bail offer from Sarajevo.
Ganic's lawyers lodged an appeal with the High Court, Great Britain's highest court for civil cases, the court's spokesman confirmed.
