German and Bosnian intelligence services are closely cooperation in the investigation into threats made by Muslim terrorist Mevlid Jasarevic who, after attacking the U:S Embassy in Sarajevo last October, threatened to poison food and water in Germany.
The German Embassy in Sarajevo confirmed for the Sarajevo-based Dnevni Avaz daily that the two countries were exchanging information about the threats made by the radical Islamist who is currently in detention awaiting indictment.
In the 7-minute video message, Jasarevic threatened to launch new attacks on German soil over the country's participation in the war in Afghanistan, warning that Muslims in Bosnia and the region were facing a new slaughter.
"America has its allies. One of those allies is Germany, which has openly attacked Afghanistan. I declare a new war on Germany. It is not a new war, it is a new kind of a war," Jasarevic said adding he would poison food and water.
The message was recorded just before the 28 October attack on the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo and was discovered in the village of Gornja Maoca, a well-known Wahhabi stronghold in Bosnia-Herzegovina
On 28 October 2011, Jasarevic fired 105 bullets at the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo, wounding two people. For 20 minutes, he walked back and forth in the street in front of the building, until a police sharpshooter kneecapped him.
He was then taken to hospital and has been in custody since.
