Commenting on an article in a Croatian daily entitled "HDZ's secrets exposed: As much as 13 million kuna went to the party leadership and entertainers", the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) party said on Sunday that the article was a false, politically motivated accusation based on forged documents without any legal effect.
"This is obviously a plan of the HDZ's enemies and those who cannot accept and are afraid of an open and uncompromising fight against corruption and crime, aimed at using forgeries to discredit personally Prime Minister and HDZ president Jadranka Kosor," reads a statement signed by HDZ spokeswoman Suncana Glavak.
