The largest political parties posted on their websites on Sunday preliminary reports on donations received and campaigning costs, which all parties running in the election are required to do by midnight on Monday.
The ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) spent 9.2 million on campaigning in 11 constituencies, while the centre-left opposition coalition led by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) spent 8.5 million in 10 constituencies.
The HDZ said in its report it had received 729,346 kuna in donations from November 17 to 26, of which 164,000 was donated by private individuals and 566,346 by legal entities. It also specified prices of media advertising and discounts it was granted.
The four parties that make up the centre-left opposition coalition (SDP, HNS, IDS and HSU) released separate reports on donations they had received from January 1 to November 25, and their costs in 10 constituencies.
The SDP spent 5.48 million kuna out of 8.369 million earmarked for campaigning. The party set aside for campaigning 8 million kuna of its own funds and received 369,000 kuna in donations, of which 48,500 kuna came from private individuals and 320,500 from legal entities.
The Croatian People's Party (HNS) received 305,500 kuna in donations, including 20,000 from legal entities and 285,500 from private individuals. It spent 2.27 million kuna, or nearly all of the 2.5 million earmarked for campaigning purposes.
The Istrian Democratic Party (IDS) spent 448,359 kuna in Constituency No. 8, while the Croatian Pensioners' Party (HSU) spent 319,000 kuna of the planned 320,000. The two parties said they had received no donations.
The Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) spent 4.58 million, saying it had received 1.727 million kuna in donations from January 1 to November 26.
The Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) received 754,041 kuna in donations from January 1 to November 26, spending 1.568 million on the election campaign.
