The 51st International Children's Festival in Sibenik was opened on Saturday evening by President Ivo Josipovic.
The most important things that we must give children are love, happiness and family harmony, and the Sibenik festival promotes all those values, said Josipovic.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Culture Minister Jasen Mesic and the head of the EU Delegation to Croatia, Paul Vandoren.
The festival will feature more than 200 various performances, with more than 1,200 participants from Macedonia, Lithuania, Latvia, the United Kingdom, Slovenia, Germany, Norway, Austria, China and Serbia. As in previous years, the festival is expected to be visited by some 60,000 people.
