Finance Minister Slavko Linic has announced a possibilities of write-off of tax debts for companies that will thus preserve jobs and for citizens in financial hardship.
In companies in which we can see that the struggle for keeping jobs is extremely important we will write off our claims, no matter whether they are private or state companies, the minister told the commercial broadcaster "Nova TV" on Wednesday, after his ministry on Tuesday published a list of over 100,000 tax debtors.
The debt will have to be written off for poor citizens, too, he added.
As for the state broadcaster HRT that was the second-ranked debtor on the list of defaulting companies, Linic announced a possibility to take a part of its property in return.
