Croatian and Serbian Presidents Ivo Josipovic and Boris Tadic said in Zagreb on Wednesday that shedding light on the fate of missing persons was a priority in the two countries' relations without which full reconciliation and bilateral cooperation was impossible.
"This is a basic, central issue. Croatia and Serbia will do everything to solve this issue, to show this way that we care about the war victims and those they left behind," Tadic told a joint press conference with Josipovic at the start of his official visit to Croatia.
"The issue of finding the bodies of those killed is a civilised request and we have an obligation to finish this process. Without shedding light on the fate of the missing, the process of reconciliation and full cooperation will not be completed. This is clear to everyone in Croatia and in Serbia," Josipovic said.
