Croatian President Ivo Josipovic on Wednesday congratulated the incumbent US President Barack Obama on winning a second term in office.
"The US presidential election was absolutely democratic and produced the result that the American people wanted," Josipovic said when asked by the press for a comment on the victory of the Democratic presidential candidate in Tuesday's vote. Obama defeated Republican challenger Mitt Romney.
Josipovic said he expected the United States to continue playing a positive role in the world, expressing hope that Croatia and the US would continue their "very successful partnership".
