Croatian President Ivo Josipovic said on Monday that there was no reason for him not to meet with Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor to discuss the appointment of new ambassadors once conditions for that were met.

"Once conditions have been created, it's no problem. When the time comes, a meeting will be held," Josipovic said answering reporters' questions after a ceremony at which he bestowed the Order of Prince Domagoj on the Independent Skabrnja Battalion.

Asked if he believed that PM Kosor would be able to harmonise her activities in a forthcoming election campaign and her duties as Prime Minister, Josipovic said it was normal for someone who wanted to participate in elections to want to participate in the election campaign.

"One should find the right measure there and I believe that Madam Prime Minister will find the right measure between her duties as Prime Minister and as the president of a party taking part in elections, and she faces major challenges like all the other parties."

Asked about media speculations about who sent tank trucks with water supplies to the village of Podgorac, which has been hit by a major drought, he or the government, Josipovic said such speculations were entirely unnecessary, adding that the most important thing was for the villagers to have water and that a permanent solution should be found to the problem of water supply in Podgorac.
