State Election Commission (DIP) Chairman Branko Hrvatin presented to President Ivo Josipovic on Tuesday evening the official results of the December 4 parliamentary election, in which the centre-left Kukuriku coalition won 80 seats in the 151-seat Parliament and hence the right to nominate a Prime Minister.
The Kukuriku coalition consists of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Croatian People's Party (HNS), the Istrian Democratic Party (IDS) and the Croatian Pensioners' Party (HSU). Their leaders are expected to meet President Josipovic on Wednesday morning to propose SDP leader Zoran Milanovic as Prime Minister-elect.
