The European Parliament rapporteur on Serbia, Jelko Kacin of Slovenia, presented his progress report on Serbia to the Foreign Affairs Committee on Monday, saying that Serbia should be given a date for the start of EU accession negotiations, Slovenian media reported.
"This is one of the most favourable reports on Serbia in the last six years. Despite economic difficulties, Serbia has made great progress in the right direction and has never been closer to the start of membership talks," Slovenian news agency STA quoted Kacin as saying.
