At the start of a Western Balkan conference on Saturday in the Slovenian resort of Brdo Pri Kranju, Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor presented participants with the Croatian translation of the European Union acquis communautaire.

The day-long conference, co-organised by Kosor and Slovenian Prime Minister Borut Pahor, is dedicated to the regional cooperation and the EU aspirations of southeastern European countries.

Handing the translations to guests, Kosor said her country thus supported other countries' EU membership bids and their efforts to carry out necessary reforms.

Apart from the event's organisers -- Slovenian and Croatian Prime Ministers Pahor and Kosor -- also heads of government, Sali Berisha of Albania, Nikola Spiric of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Hashim Thaci of Kosovo, Nikola Gruevski of Macedonia and Milo Djukanovic of Montenegro are taking part in the summit.

Serbia's delegation decided not to come as Kosovo's delegation came without UNMIK representatives.

Nikola Spiric, a Bosnian Serb politician, was quoted by the Bosnian media as saying on Friday that during Thaci's speech he would walk out of the conference room.

Upon his arrival in Slovenia, Spiric declined to give any comment to the media.
