Despite the announcements, the Krsko nuclear power did not start generating electricity in the night between Thursday and Friday, after the production was suspended at 1030 hrs Wednesday.
Spokeswoman for the nuclear plant Ida Novak Jerale told the Slovene news agency STA on Friday morning that "certain deviations were registered" which set back plans to reconnect the plant to the grid, adding that additional time was necessary to proceed with the plans.
The spokeswoman did not precisely state how long it would take to put the plant into operation.
The Krsko nuclear power plant said in a statement on Thursday that the cause of the automatic suspension of production in the plant, which was labelled as "an abnormal event" or "a zero-level accident" without impact on the environment, was an unexpected shutdown of a 380-kilovolt transmission line running to Zagreb.
The nuclear plant in the eastern Slovenian town of Krsko is jointly owned by Slovenia and Croatia.
