Kukuriku coalition reports spending HRK 14.2 mln on election campaign

The Kukuriku coalition spent about HRK 14.228 million on the parliamentary election campaign, of which the Social Democratic Party (SDP) spent HRK 10.7 million, as reported on its website.

The Croatian People's Party - Liberal Democrats (HNS) spent about HRK 2.59 million, only 13 kuna less than the donations reported.

The Istrian Democratic Party (IDS) spent nearly HRK 598,000. It reported receiving donations 127 kuna higher than its expenses.

The Croatian Pensioners Party (HSU), the fourth party of the centre-left coalition, spent HRK 319,110. It received HRK 320,000 in donations.

The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) spent a little under HRK 15.5 million on the campaign for the December 4 polls, its secretary-general told the press on Friday. The former ruling party received HRK 1.128 million in donations. The campaign costs were also covered by a loan obtained from Zagrebacka Banka and the party's own funds.

The Croatian Labour Party spent HRK 873,000 on its campaign.

The Croatian Democratic Alliance of Slavonia and Baranja (HDSSB) reported spending HRK 730,500 and 474 kuna higher donations.

The Croatian Civic Party (HGS) spent about HRK 139,000; the Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) about HRK 5.8 million; the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) more than HRK 2.5 million, including donations of nearly HRK 1.6 million; while the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) spent more than HRK 1.6 million, including a little over HRK 1.2 million from donations.

The parties which ran in the election had the obligation to submit reports on campaign costs and donations to the State Election Commission by December 28 and post them on their websites or publish in the daily press by midnight on December 30.
