The State Election Commission (DIP) processed around six percent of ballots from all polling stations by 2100 hours on Sunday, and the first results show that the centre-left coalition led by the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has won the most votes in eight constituencies.
The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), which was in power for the last two terms, has won the elections in the southern constituencies nos. 9 and 10, where it formed a coalition with the Croatian Civic Party (HGS) of Split Mayor Zeljko Kerum. The HDZ has also won the elections in Constituency No. 11, designed for the diaspora, where it has secured two seats, while the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) has won the third parliamentary seat designed for Croatian nationals living outside Croatia.
