Croatian Labour Party MP Dragutin Lesar confirmed on Thursday that he had received a death threat and talked about it with the police.
Lesar told reporters that Parliament Speaker Luka Bebic informed him on Tuesday that a letter threatening to kill him had arrived at parliament's address and that yesterday the chair of the parliamentary Domestic Policy and National Security Committee, Ranko Ostojic, told him that the State Prosecutor's Office had been notified.
Lesar confirmed that he had talked to the police.
Ostojic said that after being informed by Bebic about the death threat, he called the police to take the letter and that he notified the DORH.
"We have received the threatening letter. We have filed criminal charges against an unidentified perpetrator and launched a criminal investigation," Interior Ministry spokeswoman Aleksandra Ljuba has confirmed.
