Montenegro's new Prime Minister Igor Luksic has said that the position of his predecessor Milo Djukanovic is "completely different from the position of (ex-Croatian PM) Ivo Sanader" and that the appointment of a new Montenegrin government does not mean it is "Sanaderisation" time in Montenegro.
"I don't want it to be experienced as though it is 'Sanaderisation' time in Montenegro. I don't think that is the case in Montenegro at all. I don't see anything in Montenegro now that could be linked to what happened in Croatia," Montenegrin news agency Mina cited Luksic as saying on Thursday.
He said the way Djukanovic had done his job deserved full respect, but did not explain what exactly he meant by "Sanaderisation".
Sanader has been in extradition custody in Austria since his arrest on December 10 on a warrant issued by Croatia on suspicion of involvement in corruption. In the meantime Austria launched an investigation into a money laundering case implicating the former Croatian premier.
