The Office for the Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime (USKOK) is investigating Igor Stimac and Zdravko Mamic on allegations that the two bribed voters in the election for the president of the Croatian Football Federation (HNS)
Nothing can surprise anyone anymore, at least as far as Croatian football is concerned. The Jutarnji List daily reports that a council member in the Croatian Football Federation was approached by both sides in the race for the HNS presidency.
The council member from a Croatian first division side alleges that he voted for Vlatko Markovic after first being offered €30,000 by Igor Stimac, but voted ultimately for Markovic after Zdravko Mamic paid him €15,000 in cash and bought him an Audi A3.
Anyone who followed the elections for the HNS presidency could have easily concluded for themselves that certain things were going on behind the curtain that had nothing to do with sports or sporting honor.
