The first 100 days in office of this government is too short a period to draw any conclusions, however, this government has shown its readiness to make decisions, even unpopular ones, Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic said at the beginning of his cabinet's meeting on Thursday.
In this short period the government has made decisions "some of which are unpopular and which are not making it easier for some people now", but I believe that they will be useful in the medium and long term. The alternative is not to make any decisions and ignore the problems, but we are not like that and will not be, the premier said.
His cabinet today decided to keep the upper limit of the natural gas price at 2.13 kuna per cubic metre for preferential buyers in the industrial sector until 30 April.
First Deputy Prime Minister Radimir Cacic announced a rise in prices of energy products.
The public has been informed about preparations for an increase in energy prices given the trends on the global market on which we can make little influence, and the prices of energy products have been rising intensively in recent years, Cacic said.
The government decided to reduce charges for the organisation of natural gas and electricity markets so as to help the Croatian economy become more competitive, Cacic said.
