Deputy Prime Minister for Home, Foreign and European Affairs Neven Mimica said in the coastal town of Zadar on Thursday evening that approximately 60 percent of those who would vote at the 22 January referendum would support Croatia's EU entry, adding that most citizens would understand the benefits EU membership brings.
"At the coming referendum people need to vote 'yes' primarily because of the political and democratic stability the EU membership brings, but also because of the competitiveness in the economy and the internal social organisation, Mimica said at a public panel debate, organised by the Zadar branch of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
